Christmas concert: Saturday 7 December 2019

Edinburgh Chamber Orchestra will be performing our Christmas Concert in the sanctuary at Greenbank Parish Church on Saturday 7 December 2019 at 7.30pm.

The programme includes:

Elgar Serenade for Strings (Slow Movement)

Finzi Romance

Boyce Symphony No 5 (Last Movement)

Haydn Concerto for Organ, Oboes and Trumpets (Last Movement)

... and a selection of Christmas carols.

Tickets: £10 on the door

Students: £5

Children: Free.

Play4Peace Concert – Sunday 10 November 2019

Edinburgh Chamber Orchestra will be performing in the Play4Peace concert, which will take place in the Lindsay Stewart Lecture Theatre at Napier University's Craiglockhart campus on Sunday 10th November, 2pm-3.15pm.

The concert will be performed to mark Remembrance Day and will bring together musicians from across the world, performing in unison.

New term begins: Wednesday 25 September 2019

Edinburgh Chamber Orchestra will be returning to rehearsals on Wednesday 25 September, 7.30pm at  Greenbank Parish Church.

Rehearsal schedule 2019-20 announced

The Edinburgh Chamber Orchestra will commence rehearsals for its 2019-20 season on Wednesday 25 September at 7.30pm in Greenbank Parish Church. 

As ever we welcome new members, in particular upper strings. If you are interested in joining please email the orchestra at edinburghchamber@gmail.com or simply turn up on the night and have a tryout with the orchestra.

Summer concerts

Edinburgh Chamber Orchestra will be performing two afternoon concerts in May / June, with the programme to include:

JS Bach          Violin Concerto in A minor

Stanley           Organ Concerto in D minor

Avison           Concerto for String Orchestra in E minor

The first will take place at Greenbank Parish Church at 4pm on Sunday 26 May.
Tickets: £10 (students: £5, children: free)

The second is our annual baroque concert at Crichton Collegiate Church, Pathhead, Midlothian, which this year takes place at 3pm on Sunday 9 June.
Tickets: tbc.
