Autumn term begins on Wednesday 5 October. New members welcome!

Edinburgh Chamber Orchestra will begin rehearsals for our Christmas concert at 7.30pm on Wednesday 5 October at Morningside United Church.    
The programme for this term will be the Suite in D and the Viola Concerto in G by Telemann as well as Vivaldi's Double Trumpet Concerto.

As ever, new members are welcome, particularly upper strings.

The Christmas Concert will take place in Morningside United Church on Wednesday 7 December.

Concert – Sunday 5 June, Prestonkirk, East Linton CANCELLED

Just to let you know: the Edinburgh Chamber Orchestra's forthcoming concert at Prestonkirk, East Linton on Sunday 5 June 2016 at 3pm has been CANCELLED.

The orchestra will be taking a break over the summer, returning to rehearsals in September. Please contact us if you're interested in joining and stay tuned for details of upcoming concerts.

Easter Concerts – Pergolesi's Stabat Mater and Concertos

Edinburgh Chamber Orchestra will be performing a pair of concerts over the Easter period.

We will once again be marking Good Friday by performing the Stabat Mater, composed by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi.

This concert will take place on Good Friday (Friday 25th March) at Morningside United Church at 7.30pm and is free.

We are also staging a concert featuring three concertos, performed by leading players from Scotland and beyond. The concertos are: the Piano Concerto in D Minor by Ferrucio Busoni; Mozart's Concerto for Horn and Orchestra No 3 in E-Flat Major; and Busoni's Suite for Clarinet and String Ensemble in G-Minor.

The concert takes place on Saturday 2nd April at Morningside United Church at 7.30pm.
Tickets are available on the door. Price: £10.

Christmas concert – Wednesday 16 December 2015

Our annual Christmas concert takes place this year on Wednesday 16 December 2015 at Morningside United Church, from 7.30pm.

The programme includes Boyce's Symphony No 5 in D major and Haydn's Organ Concerto in C major as well as a range of Christmas carols.

Refreshments will be served.

Entry with programme: £10 (£8).

Next rehearsal – Wednesday 7 October 2015. New members welcome!

Edinburgh Chamber Orchestra will be starting rehearsals for our Christmas concerts following the summer break on Wednesday 7 October 2015 at 7.30pm in Morningside United Church.

As ever we welcome new members, especially upper string players. There is no audition process, interested musicians are invited to come along to a rehearsal and see what you think of the orchestra.

Tea, coffee and refreshments will be available during the break.

Summer concerts 2015

Edinburgh Chamber Orchestra is playing a series of concerts in May/June 2015.

The first is on Wednesday 20 May at Morningside United Church, where we'll be playing the Symphony No 1 by William Boyce, the St Paul's Suite by Gustav Holst and an organ concerto by John Stanley, performed by our conductor, Alberto Massimo.

Then, on Friday 22 May, we'll be performing at St Anne's Church, Dunbar. As well as the Holst and Stanley we'll also be playing Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No 3 and the Violin Concerto in E.

We'll also be performing the above programme at our annual concerto at Crichton Collegiate Church at Pathhead, Midothian, which this year takes place on Sunday 7 June at 3pm. As usual the concert will be followed by afternoon tea in the beautiful church gardens.
