Next rehearsal – Wednesday 10th January 2018

Our first rehearsal following the Christmas break will take place on Wednesday 10th January at Morningside United Church. As ever, we welcome new members.

We will be rehearsing for a spring concert, to take place at Morningside United on Wednesday 14th March. The programme includes:

Mendelssohn Symphony No 5 (Reformation)

Saint Saens   Cello Concerto No 1

Christmas concert – Wednesday 6 December 2017

Our Christmas concert will take place on Wednesday 6th December, 7.30pm at Morningside United Church, with a programme of classics and Christmas carols, including:

JS Bach          Overture No 1

Boyce             Symphony No 3

Giuliani           Guitar Concerto No 1 (First Movement)

Handel            Arrival of the Queen of Sheba

Tickets: £10 (Price includes refreshment)

Rehearsal schedule 2017-18 – New members welcome

Edinburgh Chamber Orchestra's first rehearsal following our summer break will take place on Wednesday 4th October, 7.30pm at Morningside United Church. As ever, we welcome new members,  particularly upper string players.

Our Christmas concert will take place on Wednesday 6th December, 7.30pm at Morningside United, with a programme of classics and Christmas carols, including:

Following the Christmas holiday, the spring term begins on Wednesday 10 January, leading up to a concert on Wednesday 14th March, 7.30pm at Morningside United Church, with a programme to include:

Saint Saens   Cello Concerto No 1        

Our summer term begins on Wednesday 18th April and will culminate in a concert at Crichton Collegiate Church, Pathhead, Midlothian on the afternoon of Sunday 10th June, at which we will be reprising the Bach Overture, Handel's Arrival of the Queen of Sheba and the Giuliani Guitar Concerto.

Summer concert at Crichton Collegiate Church

Edinburgh Chamber Orchestra will be performing our annual summer concert at the historic Crichton Collegiate Church, Pathhead, Midlothian, on Sunday 4 June at 3pm.
The programme will include the Viola Concerto in G by Telemann and the Suite 'La Bouffonne', also by Telemann.
Audiences are invited to join us for afternoon tea in the garden of the nearby manse following the concert.

Spring concert: Wednesday 29 March – Beethoven and Schubert

Edinburgh Chamber Orchestra will be playing our spring concert on Wednesday 29 March at 7.30pm at Morningside United Church.


Our programme includes Beethoven's Piano Concert No 1 in C major and Schubert's Symphony No 3  in D major.

New term begins: Wednesday 18 January 2017

Happy New Year!

Edinburgh Chamber Orchestra will begin rehearsals for our spring concerts on Wednesday 18 January 2017. As ever, we will be meeting at Morningside United Church, 7.30-9.30pm, including a break for coffee.

New members are welcome, in particular upper strings.
